Team JI.org - Wtf, who is that?

We always talk about Jemma, Hahe and Sat1. We provide you with information, ideas and translations. But what we never did is this:

Hello,

Please allow me to introduce ourselves

We're women of craze and taste

We've been around for a few months now

Sharing with you our love and place

Find out more about Team Ji.org and all its great supporters!

So that we needed to do this at some point was obvious, we had it in the backs of our minds from the beginning, but never had the time to sit down and actually do it. Well, now we took the time and decided to put this out in celebration of episode 200 which was aired today :) A few of us you've already met through the chat we did, but now we'll do the introduction properly and feel free to tell us in the comments who you are, where you're from, how you've found Jemma and what you connect with this phenomenon. We're looking forward to your stories.

Also, we'd like to take this opportunity to finally launch the map of Jemma fans all over the world (which also has been laying around since the first days of this website). It will be interesting to see where everyone is from. What we did is put up a google map (simple ;) ). Log into your google-account and you can put a pin into the map at the area where you are coming from.

Here you can find the map: Jemmafans Map

Another information or answer to a FAQ is that YES, we will translate ALL episodes, meaning the DVDs. We will try to provide them as soon as possible. Our first priority for now are the recent episodes though. At the very latest we will get to the DVDs when the show 'verb that shall not be named's and we all will be caught in a depression. So that with the old episodes we have something to cheer us up.

But now lets get to the introduction part. We sent out a form to all of our lovely friends and supporters, asking them to share a little bit about them and their love for Jemma with us all.

Thank you to everyone who took the time and thank you for supporting us. You rock girls!

(If someone is still missing, feel free to sent us a mail and we'll add you to it,

since this will from now on also be shown here 'Team Jemma' -> "Team Ji.org")

How did you come to Jemma?

Weird agglomeration of coincidences.."Wicked",ff,researching Glinda and Lucy Scherer, an Afterellen heads up and the Noro Virus. It was destiny:-) I don't even own a TV!

How did you join JI.org?

When it became known that the fab HaHe people would put up their own Jemma corner (still a big YAY! for that) and it became clear a little later, that there would be no subtitles,I called up Rike (Frieda, see below for further info) with the idea of creating a small,no big deal kinda crutch of a website to help out with translations and navigation of the official pages, til they'd come up with their own stuff.

After toasting every domain with the address of jemmatranslations in it,and calling and mailing a few help hotlines,we finally founded jemmainternational.:-)

Why do you do what you do around here:

Pepa and Silvia?Great couple, but I would have lost interest after ten minutes if I wouldn't have understood a word they said. What a loss!

It's a combo of finally being able to give back to all of the great translators who've made so many of couples available to us, and to proudly host this couple in this wonderful worldwide community..Now the skeleton is in our volleyball field, so to speak!

And of course, it's also a nod to the HaHe crew for not being tolerating or accepting, but totally overwhelmed and embracing. A feeling that needs to be shared,to make the world a better place, you know?;-)

Favorite Jemma Scene:

124/125 Kisses under the blanket, cause I love the choreography. But to be honest, I can't really decide.

 Favorite Song(from the series):

Ave Maria

Weird Jemma/Hahe coincidences:

"Frau Doktor, jetzt mal Hand aufs Herz!" //  "Doctor, now hand upon your heart!"

Are you starting to talk in Jemma quotes yet, if yes, which do you use?

"NICHT?" ("NOT?") (150)

"Du bist doof!" (149)

The craziest thing Jemma let you do/highlight experiences:

I don't even know where to begin...leading the strangest of double lives these past few months would sum it  up nicely,I guess. How did Batman manage the sleeping  issue, btw?

And at last, is there something you want to say to our visitors?

Craziness is necessary for our souls to breathe sometimes.

xoxo

How did you come to Jemma?

I watched Hahe from the start and liked the Bea+Ben (teacher/student) story. But when Jemma started developing I was completely over the moon and felt that there was a great lovestory in the works. So watching Hahe paid off by getting to know these wonderful actresses and storyline.

How did you join JI.org?

I met the girls at the Sat1 board, then we did that spontaneous trip to Berlin where we met in person for the first time and when the website was created I got pulled onto board by the girls, too :)

Why do you do what you do around here:

Because it's fun doing and this gives me the opportunity to spend even more time on Jemma, which is giving me endless joy.

Favorite Jemma Scene:

The First Time and Kissing Under The Blanket (the revolution one)

Favorite Song(from the series):

Be Mine

Are you starting to talk in Jemma quotes yet, if yes, which do you use?

Hmm, I don't know. I'm sure I do, but there's nothing specific that comes to mind right now.

The craziest thing Jemma let you do/highlight experiences:

Doing a spontaneous trip to Berlin, meeting up with total strangers, who turned out to be lovely ladies, and dancing with them on the 'Alexanderplatz' :-o

And at last, is there something you want to say to our visitors?

Stay Jemma!

How did you come to Jemma?

Through the Sat.1 Board and Amidola.

How did you join JI.org?

After Sat.1 put the Jemmaclips up on the official Hahe Website, ami and I had the idea to do a website for the international people on which everyone would be able to find translations to the Jemmascenes...So I took on the technical part of this operation and am constantly holding contact to all of our non-english-speaking friends ;)

Why do you do what you do around here:

Doesn't everyone have a right to know Jemma? ;) Seriously. Why? For the INTERNATIONALS!!!

Favorite Jemma Scene:

When Jenny defends Emma in front of Lena+Yvonne. (It's the first time that Emma semipublicly admits her feelings for Jenny to herself.)

Favorite Song (from the series):

Talking about a revolution, Drops of Jupiter, Think

Weird Jemma/Hahe coincidences:

My car's name is Emma, but she has better driving skills than Emma.

Jemma quotes:

“Du bist doof.”, “gewöhn Dich schon mal dran.”(149)

"Hast du keine Post bekommen?” „Manchmal bekommt man halt Post“(139)

“Entweder Du bibberst oder Du quatscht.“ (124)

The craziest thing Jemma let you do/firsts you had with Jemma/any highlight experiences:

The flashmob we did in March, definitely! Spontaneously I decided to drive to Berlin only to learn the choreo for it until 5am in the morning and still the next day on the 'Alex'. Totally crazy, but oh so worth it!

And at last, is there something you want to say to our visitors?

Stay Jemma!

How did you come to Jemma?
I watched the first 3 episodes and then had to stop because of the time it was airing and lake of interest.
Then the news of musical actress Lucy Scherer was announced to be in the show.
Since ep. 74 I have not missed a single episode !

After we all met in Berlin for "Fan Day" of Hahe I have been able to be a small part of this amazing idea and "The Core."

The craziest thing Jemma let you do/highlight experiences:
I learned the choreography for the flash mob in the middle of the night. I then rehearsed it on the Alexanderplatz  with some other people in Berlin and after that I tried to dance with the actors and the dance crew. It was a crazy thing to try, I know, but it was so much Fun!

How did you join JI.org?

Why do you do what you do around here?

Favorite Jemma Scene:

Caught by Bodo – Jenny throws away her restraint (okay, it was just her bag) before kissing Emma

Favorite Song(from the series):

“Lovefool”

Weird Jemma/Hahe coincidences:

Last time I visited a Bad Taste Party, I was dressed like Jenny. And in spring a woman named Emma crashed with her car, which was similar to Bea´s low Budget car on HaHe, into mine. A spooky thing, huh?

Are you starting to talk in Jemma quotes yet, if yes, which do you use?

J: "Das geht goar nicht." (132, telling Emma it was not okay to leave her behind with Timo.)

The craziest thing Jemma let you do/firsts you had with Jemma:

I desperately googled through all online shops, willing to buy Jenny´s purple Winter-Jacket

How did you come to Jemma?

Heather Hogan FTW!

How did you join JI.org?

It was a dark lonely night when... - No, I was subbing some clips for some friends in America+Malaysia when JI.org was born. I sent a mail to ami (total stranger) saying I was doing translations anyway and asking if she needed some, since I knew how much work only raising this website must be. Her answer was: “YAY! And if I wasn't clear enough: YAY!!!” And before I knew it I had full access to the website and had sealed my life and soul to the devil, not having any time to say goodbye to my family, friends or colleagues...

Why do you do the stuff you do around here?

I gave up on German TV a long time ago and enjoyed many American Series in their original language instead. When I first started with that my English was pretty horrible and it was hard to follow along. So I know, subs? A dream!  Also I heard of and witnessed other lesbian storylines which got subbed on YT and I always was fascinated by it and the work others put into it. So finding out there was this great story being aired in my own country and I had no idea about it?! ksdfjkljh!!! Now I love the idea of you being guests in our land, and I want us to be good hosts. We're lucky to have Petra Bodenbach+Team and keeping this gift to ourselves would be nothing but selfish. It's our turn to share the love and I love to be able to be a part of that. So please, let us entertain you :)

Favorite Jemma Scene:

No, don't make me choose! I already couldn't vote in that poll we had going for a while and now there are a million more adorable scenes. Ugh, let me think about this. ...(30minutes later)...Ah, I DON'T KNOW!!! Sorry, but I could write a 100+ pages essay about all different scenes...Just know that I love the angst and character development.

Favorite Song:

'Love Fool' from Orange Juice Jenny – no question asked.

Also 'Fuck You' - out of obvious reasons.

And 'Sympathy for the Devil' - Because it's so evil and catchy.

But [SPOILER] heard of a duet that's coming up? That could become competition. (was 201 meant with that spoiler?)

Jemma/Hahe coincidences:

I have the Pestalozzi teachers rooms doors installed in my house. (No they were already there before I watched the show. I'm not that creepy.) And two weeks in watching Hahe my father randomly told me that he went to 'Pestalozzi-School' when he was young. Made me fall from my chair.

Jemma quotes you use:

E: Nicht? (150 to Bodo)

E: Wochen?!? (176(?) to Bodo)

E: Du bist doof! J: Ey, ich bin doof? E: Nein, du bist nicht doof. Du bist toll. (149)

J: Ich freu mich sooo. (136)

J: Wir waren gut. Du warst gut. (193)

and more...

Also, randomly throw yoghurt and grapes into any conversation. It will always make it better. (The words I mean, don't know about throwing actual yoghurts and grapes...have to try that.)

Craziest thing:

Sending a heart shaped letter to Sat 1, sending oregano to Sat1, sending fanmail written from Jenny/Emma's perspective to Kasia/Lucy - Never was such an activist before and I'm not even really participating in the Save Hahe stuff... (or so I'm telling myself)

Firsts/Highlights:
Writing a song! And getting a variety of beautiful sung versions of it sent. It's amazing. (Alexa? Wir waren gut. Du warst gut. xoxo!!)

Words addressed to our visitors:
It's always nice to hear from you. Ich always freu mich soo about every comment.

Keep on jemming and lots of Jemma Love to you all!

How did you come to Jemma?

I watched Hahe from the very first episode! (with a heightened interest since episode 74, of course!)

How did you join Ji.org?

Well, Amidola asked and I called out 'HERE!' in glee, stretching my arm up in the air like Emma in 166 when meaning to answer the question about Osmosis.

Why do you do the stuff you do around here?

I love to join in on something which gives so much fun and happiness to so many people and lets everyone in the world move a little bit closer. Also I love my Crazy JI-Team, everyone who I was able to meet and every experience I make with them every day.

Favourite Jemma Scene?

125 when they're rolling up the banner and being like Susi and Strolch(Lady and the Tramp)! It touched me deeply how Kasia+Lucy managed to convey this incredible disbelieve, then the recognition of what it was and then the happiness about what is happening between them(Jenny+Emma).

Favourite Song:

Am I gay? Or Am I gay? ->

I will survive....For the party moments.

Also: If I were a boy (the way Kasia has this internal smile when she sings 'chase after girls', fantastic.)

Jemmaquotes:

E: Du bist doof! J: Ey, ich bin doof? E: Nein, du bist nicht doof. Du bist toll. (149)

J: Sowas geht goar net. (132 to Emma after Timo caught them kissing.)

Also the handmotion Jenny makes when talking about Ronnies 'length' :-) (181)

Craziest Thing Jemma made me do:

I'm sorry, but I can't talk about that. It could risk me my job and I might land in prison :-) (not kidding)

Words to the visitors:

Continue to live what Jemma gave to all of us.

Stay Jemma!

How did you come to Jemma?

I heard about this new Musical called Wicked which was said to be great. It came to Germany and I wanted to see it because of Elphaba. I love and support all underdogs. But then Lucy Scherer (Glinda) appeared from the left side in her bubble and floated on stage making me hopelessly fall under her spell in the first second. Then one day I was mindleslly flipping through channels when BAM Lucy Scherer was on my screen catching my attention once again (and how she caught it). I recognized her and of course had to watch her show, uh...Hand aufs Herz.

How did you join JI.org?

This is gonna be a longer story.

On the Sat1board Ami came up with the idea to make a video about the fantag (this website didn't exist yet) and asked around who was up for it. Miss big mouth 2011 (that's me), agreed immediately, kidding around at first. Some days later Ami recruited me for the website, saying come on join us and live it up, it'll be fun and hey, no strings attached, just take a look at it (along the lines 'Look it glints and shines!'). Well, it didn't even took a day for me to be beyond recovery (not that I wanted to be recovered.) And the moral of this story? Never say anything in joke to ami. She'll get you.

Why do you do what you do around here?

To support all my Co Heros/Co Sidekicks AND because this couple and show deserves all the hard work. And it’s fun! Really, it is!!

Favorite Jemma Scene:

Every single smile of Emma! Oh, about Jemma? Touches? No doubt. Or the last shot of Cuddling? Yeah, definitely! The Kiss? For Sure. Sharing a blanket? That’s It. New Love? The Winner. Smile, smile, smile? Number One. … I could go on forever and couldn’t decide.

Favorite Song(from the series):

1. Be Mine of the heartbroken Jenny

2. Sweet Dreams of the heartbroken Emma
3. Ave Maria (It seems I prefer drama!)

Weird Jemma/Hahe coincidences:

I can eat a whole pizza and can dance, NO ballet, but my name in cyrillic. Also my principal was hot and sexy as Helena, too. And yes, no surprise, my closet is full of plaid, too.

Are you starting to talk in Jemma quotes yet, if yes, which do you use?

I wish I could form sentences and talk big like Jenny when leading revolutions, but in the end it always comes out in the best of all Emma stutters. My recent favorite sentence from Emma is "Darauf spekuliere ich doch." (197) and not to forget, Jenny's "Emma, ich kanns mir nicht mehr ohne Dich vorstellen!" (141) Heartbreaking+sweet.

The craziest thing Jemma let you do/firsts you had with Jemma:

One? You godda be kidding!! For some I would get busted, for others I still am getting the finest 'Emma Müller blush',… but I don’t regret one of them!! And evidences of enough of those deeds can be found floating around the webs. Yikes! ;)

And at last, is there something you want to say to our visitors?

It’s a big honor and huge pleasure to work with so talented, gifted, creative and funny people, and to be a part of such a great community. And all the appreciation from you guys makes me feel proud and gives a great energy to go on!!

How did you come to Jemma?

I watched Hahe from the start until someday it became a bit boring and I left the TV off. But thanks to the internet (spoilers) my attention was drawn to Jenny Hartmann and the start of the Jemma storyline – since then everything revolves around Jemma.

How did you join JI.org?

Amidola offered me a job – so how was I supposed to say no?

Why do you do what you do around here?

Jemma is something special. Through Jemma a community formed in a way that I never experienced before! It seems that the whole world has moved a little bit closer through Jemma and it is fun to work on the website. I'm proud to be a part of this family.

Favorite Jemma Scene:

Under the blanket(124+125) & white sheet(197), the hutscene(195) and the scene in the restrooms when they fight and Emma lets Jenny stand there alone(148).

Favorite Song(from the series):

Be Mine (Jenny’s Version), Think (I love Jenny's pink top!), Sweet Dreams (Piano version with heartache causing Emma) and Lovefool (Coming Out)

Jemma quotes:

J: Sowas geht goar nicht! (132)

J: (….) ganz spontaaaan. (177)

J: Dann kriegt er einen auf die Mütze. (177)

J: Vielleicht knallt das ja auch… das wäre natürlich scheiße! (181)

J: Du bist was Besonderes! (121)

The craziest thing Jemma let you do:

How did you join JI.org?

Kids these days... Internet fanatics ;)

Why do you do what you do around here?

Becaaaauuse the more people get to enjoy Jemma, the happier the world will be and less people will wake up with a black eye after a night of depressed drinking at a bar? Or maybe world peace... Haven't decided yet! No seriously, I think the more people we can reach, the more of these storylines will turn up and considering the media is one of the biggest influences on society, hopefully it'll help make our struggle a little easier for the ones who'll follow :)

Favorite Jemma Scene:

Ramble ramble ramble... Woops, hi, future parents-in-law!! (aka 'the Emma' confesses her love at the train station scene)

Favorite Song(from the series):

Mhm. If I were a boy!

Weird Jemma/Hahe coincidences:

I too have this amazing, beautiful very talented gf who sings in a school choir, was this little child star in Japan, has lived all over the world, sang out her love for me for the whole school to see and is called Jenny... oh, wait, that was just last night's dream, right?

Are you starting to talk in Jemma quotes yet, if yes, which do you use?

"You are Emma." (episode 129) Ah the brilliance of that line...

Thank you so much for that Hand aufs Herz!!

The craziest thing Jemma let you do/firsts you had with Jemma/any highlight experiences:

How did you come to Jemma?

By accident I saw a clip of Kasia singing “If I were a boy” - and was enchanted! And so it came that I was being carried away by this giant wave called JEMMA

How did you join JI.org?

First I made some commercial & newspaper fakes (Sorry George!) and then raised my hand when there was need for some English translations

Why do you do what you do around here?

I love those crazy pink sheep here and I think they need some “grey” amongst them

Favorite Jemma Scene:

Perfect two! (ep.147 touches)

Favorite Song (from the series):

Sweet dreams (In fact every song Kasia is singing!)

Weird Jemma/Hahe coincidences:

Some EMMA-patterns sounds familiar, don’t they?

And I would be one of those looking for a train to get to London!

Are you starting to talk in Jemma quotes yet, if yes, which do you use? :

Especially my daughters are the victims of this:

"Ich zähl jetzt bis 3 und dann ...- 3" (I count to three and then … - Three!) (120)

"Aber das? Das geht goar nicht!" (But this? This is a no-go!) (132)

"Lächeln, Lächeln, Lächeln" (Smile, smile, smile) (104)

"Der kann nichts dafür, dass du schlechte Laune hast." (Don’t blame it for your bad mood) (98)

The craziest thing Jemma let you do:

buying my phone with the main intention of having JEMMA "Anyplace-Anywhere-Anytime"

Firsts you had with Jemma:

It’s my first time joining an internet forum, following a blog (guess which one), setting up a twitter account and writing fan letters - not even George Clooney has gotten me to do that!

And at last, is there something you want to say to our visitors?

How did you come to Jemma?

Honestly, I can't really quite remember. But judging from the date of my earliest Jemma video it probably was AfterEllen's very first recap that made me run to YouTube. And the rest is history. (And yes, I find it somewhat ironic that I had to learn about this German show from  an American website.)

How did you join JI.org?

I only asked if they needed a little help, just to be polite, you know. Next thing I know, I'm being chained to my computer, translating all the time. I'm gonna escape for sure, just as soon as they stop playing those distracting Jemma videos...

Why do you do what you do around here?

Something as great as Jemma deserves to be made available to as many interested people as possible. Plus, it's my way of returning the favor for all those subtitled videos and transcripts of "Hospital Central" and "Los Hombres de Paco" way back when. I know what it is like to want to watch something but not being able to understand the language. So, gracias por todo. ;-)

Favorite Jemma Scene:

The one that started in episode 73 and is still on-going.

Favorite Song(from the series):

I can't decide. Pretty much everything that Emma sings, I really like Kasia's voice (Lucy's, too ;-) ).

Weird Jemma/Hahe coincidences:

Pffff... Okay, far-fetched but I can't think of anything more obvious: If one pronounces Kasia's last name with very very very short vowels it sounds like my last name. Told you it was far-fetched.

Are you starting to talk in Jemma quotes yet, if yes, which do you use?

E: "Manchmal bekommt mal halt Post."

J: "Manchmal da passieren Sachen im Leben, die passieren einfach und dann muß man damit klarkommen."

The craziest thing Jemma let you do/firsts you had with Jemma/any highlight experiences:

For the first time in my life, I've watched a German soap/telenovela. I've always avoided them like the plague. And I'm buying the DVDs. Armageddon must be nigh.

And at last, is there something you want to say to our visitors?

I hope you'll continue to enjoy the show, the fandom and this site. Stay Jemma! And Battle On!

Explaining to a couple of nosy people (including a store detective) in a supermarket why it is of the utmost importance to take pictures of Jemma with grapes, yoghurt etc. for the virtual flashmob, telling them about Hand aufs Herz and why they should join the fight to save it.

And at last, is there something you want to say to our visitors?

Stay Jemma! We got their love forever.

Because the JemmaInternational ladies were crazy enough to create such a wonderful website for all fans around the world and thus provided us wonderful moments of squeaking, laughing, crying etc. with translations, blog entries, videos, pictures etc. So I want to support them as much as I can.

Favorite Jemma Scene:

The scene of Jemma after their first time making love

Favorite Song(from the series):

Talking about a revolution

Weird Jemma/Hahe coincidences:

Well besides the fact I see Jemma-related stuff everywhere I look, there has been just one coincidence where I had to think about HaHe immediately with a smile. After episode 193 in which Michael decided to travel to Venice alone there was a woman next to me in the train who had tickets for the opera La Traviata ;) Obviously Michael found an alternate company for the opera quite fast…Hence, the excuse that distance would be good for him and Bea ;);)

Are you starting to talk in Jemma quotes yet, if yes, which do you use?

I use too many to list them here. There’s always a situation where a quote of them is appropiate.

How did you join JI.org?
I offered to translate the clips into italian and Amidola opened the door for me.

Why do you do what you do around here?
When I was younger, I was a huge "Friends" fan (I still am *_*). I couldn't wait for the episodes to be transmitted on Italian TV, so I would *get* them in english and look up on the internet to find a way to actually understand what my fabulous 6 were saying... that's how I learned what a transcript is. That's why I do what I do, to make other people who don't speak the language understand what the hell my favorite 2 german gals say to each other. And maybe learn a couple of words. And a couple of pick up lines ;)

Favorite Jemma Scene:
Unbearable choice. First that comes to my mind, the one where they're digging the volleyball field, they both receive a call from Saal1 and they smile at each other in that sweet/ironic/adorable way. But also all the scenes where they fight.

Favorite Song(from the series):
I really liked the performance in Hamburg, so... Sympathy for the devil.

Weird Jemma/Hahe coincidences:
I always scream at unanimated objects to make them work, like Emma with the vending machine.

Are you starting to talk in Jemma quotes yet, if yes, which do you use?
As I've started learning german (I was actually typing "jemman" xD) only a few months ago, I can't really quote them. But I do say "warum?" instead of why, and I totally use Jenny facial expression. I also made a gif to practice.

The craziest thing Jemma let you do/firsts you had with Jemma/any highlight experiences:

Monopolize a conversation with 5 people for 1 hour, talking them into watching Jemma scenes. More than once.

And at last, is there something you want to say to our visitors?
Love comes in many, unexpected ways. Sometimes it wears fluorescent leggings.

Weird Jemma/Hahe coincidences:

Lovefool tends to play a lot at the dentist office

How did you join JI.org?

I started a little conversation with Amidola via Twitter, saying that I would love to help with anything. Then, like if she knew already, she asked me if I could talk Spanish. Since Spanish is my native language I said I would be glad helping with anything regarding the Spanish translations.

Why do you do what you do around here?

Primarily because I love Jemma and all the revolution they’ve created. This love has taken me to a point where I can relate with other people who don’t understand German or English or Italian or Esperanto!

Favorite Jemma Scene:

Oh this one’s difficult! But I have to go with the one when the girls fought (I guess I like to suffer!) because Jenny slept with Ben. So Emma is singing “Sweet Dreams” while Jenny is crying and reading and reading and reading Emma’s letter!

Favorite Song (from the series):

Lovefool” by The Cardigans! I had that song in my head for days! That was the most awesome outing ever and the perfect song to do it!

Weird Jemma/HaHe coincidences:

Well I guess I could say that I have the same sneakers Emma wears. And I love boots as much as Jenny does (I noticed she almost always uses the black ones!)

Are you starting to talk in Jemma quotes yet, if yes, which do you use?

I wish I could say yes but unfortunately I’m not that fast! What I could say without hesitation is that I’ve learned how to curse in another language! (Don’t really know why that's a good thing but it is!)

The craziest thing Jemma let you do/firsts you had with Jemma/any highlight experiences:

I would hide from my family to watch every episode because I’m afraid they will think I’m losing my mind every time I laugh, giggle, scream, almost cry… All the Jemma symptoms!

And at last, is there something you want to say to our visitors:

Keep loving Jemma and embrace all the good things they have given us!!

Heather Hogan and her witch powers that force me to watch everything she recommends even if I don’t understand a lick of German.

How did you join JI.org?

A hostage negotiation deal with L-Chat. I’m always in one dungeon or another.

Why do you do what you do around here?

Because timing subtitles is one of the most satisfying things a person with an obsessive compulsive personality disorder can do with their lives. Oh, and camaraderie and stuff.

Favorite Jemma Scene:

So many! But the one I always go back to is Emma’s love confession in front of Jenny’s parents at the train station.

Favorite Song (from the series):

Jenny’s “Be Mine” piano solo.

Weird Jemma/HaHe coincidences:

There are no coincidences inside the dungeons. Just rocks.

Are you starting to talk in Jemma quotes yet, if yes, which do you use?

I have, at times, mentioned oregano in the middle of a conversation and then burst out laughing like a madwoman, to the befuddlement of people around me.

The craziest thing Jemma let you do/firsts you had with Jemma/any highlight experiences:

Aside for subbing a buckload of episodes of a series in a language I don’t speak? Hmm... Navigating Amazon.de to buy series DVDs was a bit adventurous (up until they were delivered, I wasn't 100% sure I didn't accidentally order a physiology book. Or a yak). Also, enjoying a German operatic musical (Lulu) wasn’t something I ever expected to happen.

And at last, is there something you want to say to our visitors:

It’s an honour to be a part of such a wonderful community, and I’d like to thank each and every one of you for making it what it is.

How did you come to Jemma?

Heather Hogan recap on AfterEllen led me to YouTube etc. videos.

How did you join JI?

Well, way back in the autumn of 2011, I used the translations for episodes 1-10 to make subtitle (SRT) files. Lied (aka Captain) noticed my efforts and promptly chained me up in a dungeon at an undisclosed location. But, the dungeon is actually rather nice and the music they pipe in is awesome. ;)

Why do you do what you do around here?

Because it would be a shame if someone missed out on this great little show because of wanting or needing English subtitles/ German closed captioning - and none existed. Plus, the more ways to share Jemma via all the translation/ transcription efforts - the better! Yay!

Favorite Jemma scene:

Hm ... after typing several answers and then thinking: Oh wait! I loved that other scene too ... apparently, I am not easily able to pick a favorite out of my many, many favorites.

Favorite Song:

This is nearly as tough a question as the prior question, since the singing and the added pop songs were what made the show so much fun for me. If I had to pick one: Be Mine (Jenny, Emma, & Hotte), but Ave Maria is a very, very, very close 2nd place! (How could it not be? We get to hear all those lovely voices together).

Weird Coincidence:

I started telling my mom about Hand aufs Herz. We were at the dentist. Midway through my chat with her, I heard: "What we've got is gold ..." on the radio. "Hey, that is the HaHe intro song!" I couldn't have grinned bigger. :D

Jemma Quotes:

Du bist doof. :)

Kein Sport.

Craziest thing:

Um, lol ... can I plead the 5th? No? Yes? Maybe? ;) Hm ... I think not sharing Jemma with the world would be the crazy thing, right?

How did you join JI?

For some inexplicable reason Globe thought I was worthy of joining this amazing group. She asked me to join and how could I refuse?

Why do you do what you do around here?

It’s not very often that a small show like this can touch and bring people together from all corners of the world. Why not let more people experience it?

Favorite Jemma Scene:

Can I say all of them? Is that reasonable?

Favorite Song:

Emma’s Save Me. She deserved all the awards for that.

Weird Coincidence:

I was shopping and found the famous blue plaid shirt. Just as I go up to it I hear “If I Were A Boy” playing. I couldn’t help but sing along and smile.

Favorite Jemma Quotes:

“Du bist doof”

Craziest Thing:

I’d rather not say. You all might suffer secondhand embarrassment.

Job@JI.org: Team SRT, editing with Team English, and the occasional translation…. Basically, I just do whatever I can to help.

How did you come to Jemma?

I was looking for something to watch to help me with me with my German because a German couple had come into my workplace and in trying to speak with them, I realized how much of the language I had actually lost from not using it.  SO, I started hunting…. Found a mention of it on After Ellen and decided to check it out.  The rest, as they say, is history…

How did you join JI?

It was a combination of helping Globe with the SRTs, and talking with Lied and offering to do something – I forget what that something was…. It was something little, and then suddenly I woke up one day and found myself chained in a dungeon… I’m unsure who’s it is…. I actually get moved around a lot….

Why do you do what you do around here?

I do it because I think the show, the Jemma storyline, the fans – well, I think it’s just all AMAZING!  I do it because everyone should be able to watch this show…. Because I know that somewhere in the world, in some small town, there is a young gay person searching for something to watch… something to help them feel NORMAL in a world where they don’t seem to fit in… and I think it would be horrible if they missed out simply because they didn’t have a translation.  I also do it because I’m hearing impaired, and though I can still hear many things, having translations and SRTs for this show is AWESOME for me, and every other deaf and/or hard of hearing person out there!!!  Also… because it’s just totally fun… this group of women here at JI.org are just amazing…. and they make my life better every single day…. Working with them gives me such joy…

Favorite Jemma scene:

Oh gosh… I mean…. They are ALL my favorite, each for their own reason….. so that’s a really difficult question to answer…. But I guess… if I had to pick one…. It’d be when they ‘come out’ on the books – I loved that….. I loved how the show treated it, how the actors acted it…. and the song was just the most perfect one they could have picked for that.

Favorite Song:

Why am I being forced to choose!?!?!  Haha…. Uh… I really liked Survivor… I like the beat, and the fact that nearly everyone was singing there….I thought that everyone sang their parts really well…. I really wish that Sophie and Hotte had still been in the STAG though….   I also really liked “If I Were A Boy” …. And “Sweet Dreams”….  SEE!  I can’t pick just one!

Weird Coincidence:

EVERY…SINGLE….TIME I go to get my hair cut, the songs from HaHe are playing….  I *never* would have noticed this before, simply because I don’t really pay attention to music since I often can’t hear it…. But my stylist always has her radio turned up pretty loud, thus allowing me to at least hear SOMETHING…. So every time I go in there I hear one of the songs and smile, and the memories start to float up….

Fav Jemma Quotes:

“Du bist doof. “ – loved the playfulness in this scene….

Craziest thing:

Does dressing up a giant spoon and trekking up to the top of a volcano to take pictures for Jemma fans count as crazy?????   Or…. How about actually taking a train from Cologne to London!?!?  Haha!

To our guests:

Thank you for being such a GREAT fandom!  Stay Jemma!
