You're kidding right. My heart can't take this angst. That look they gave each other towards the end.......heartbreaking.

Jenny is officially creeping me out.

    Lolo (Mittwoch, 24 August 2011 20:02)

I am officially worried now...Jenny even has new clothes and new hair style...it is already affecting Jemma and not in a good way.:-(

@Lolo exactly what I was thinking, how on earth are they going to repair this in a week?

    Anns (Mittwoch, 24 August 2011 20:13)

Jenny is trying to cope with the situation using her old tricks. Wearing a mask, faking a smile and hiding/suppressing her true feelings. I hope she will let herself grief properly soon and let's Emma comfort her. *sigh*

Can't wait to see how the writers get themselves out of this one.

    :'( oh Jenny.

Poor Jenny. That last look to Emma said so much.. I know you think I'm dealing with this the wrong way, But it's the only way I can deal with it just now, I know you're worrying and I know you're there for me and I love you.
As a master of denial and frequent 'mask wearer' myself, I can do that look :)
Emma will just have to be there so when Jenny crumbles, she's there. Interested to see how this all rights itself in litle over a week!

Just wanted to mention, that opinions were very divided abt Jenny's hair in the German Forums. On a different Side note: Jenny's clothes match! Serious sign of distress, that is if nothing else would Be. And just how Great a pair of acteresses are Lucy and Kasia? That Look between them was probably Five pages of Script. They Could probably go to the supermarket and communicate their Shopping List silently across the aisles. That last Look was all "Babe I Know that I'm gonna Need Croissants, so Let's get some for the fridge

@Anns: I dont think It's not the old Jenny, It's really far from Jenny, she never wore a mask, she was always the open, passionate one, always true to her feelings... but I think she is really, deeply broken up this time, and the reason she is pretending to be good may be because she just doesn't wanna lose it in front of Emma. Also, It might be the remorse... maybe she is still feeling guilty about the past, and now that her parents are gone, she wont have the chance to make it up to them. :(

And I love how Helena always picks at Bea because of Ben. :D She is jelous, that's it.

    Anns (Mittwoch, 24 August 2011 21:46)

@Andi True but I was referring to the time before Jenny fell for Emma. When she first came to Pestalozzi she seemed a bit arrogant and she was always putting on some kind of a show. It was Emma who finally cracked her shell and we got to see the true Jenny. I have a feeling we'll be needing those croissants pretty soon. The clock is ticking...

    Ammy (Mittwoch, 24 August 2011 21:56)

I was extremely hessitant to watch this episode...all the sadness.....but I could never deny myself a Jemma Moment, whether happy or sad.
Can I just say that I actually loved Jenny's hair in this episode...not as much when it was rigid in the beginning but when it was more relaxed when she was talking to Bodo.

@Amidola: LMAO! Shopping List and the Croissants....so true though.

@Andi: I agree with you on the not wanting to lose it in front of Emma....Allthough I think maybe too that she thinks of herself as a rock and if she breaks down she wont have that anymore.....I dunno.

    Ammy (Mittwoch, 24 August 2011 21:59)

I almost forgot! In reference to the chat yesterday about Jenny's bullet Earring for anyone still interested:

After all that "hard work" of staring at Lucy's perfect face....I mean research I have concluded: RIP Jenny's Bullet Earring EP 74-167. Fun facts I have seen along the way: Jenny actually is wearing both bullet earrings from Ep 74-85. She begins only wearing the one earring in Ep. 90. Also, Jenny's Bullet Earring makes a guest appereance in Ep. 193-195 (which takes place over the course of 1 day). Whooo....I am starting to enjoy research!

    Kittykatcop (Mittwoch, 24 August 2011 22:19)

I think it could be to do with feelings. Jenny's feelings for Emma are so strong, as is her her grief for the loss of her parents. To let one in, would let everything in. Better to skim along the surface of life, than be overcome. Again, an extremely real reaction to a real situation. Bravo to the writers. Unfortunately for Emma, she has also become a victim of the circumstances. If only we had the time to let the emotions play out properly, something we have been blessed with in this story so far far.

    Ammy (Mittwoch, 24 August 2011 22:31)

    Right on, Kittykatcop!

I'm thinking now would be the perfect opportunity for Emma to break into some building again and sing "Have a Little Faith in Me" by John Hiatt. It would fit perfectly and honestly I miss Emma's singing. Jenny's too!

I miss Hotte too! We need some comic relief to balance these heavy episodes.

    Kittykatcop (Mittwoch, 24 August 2011 23:33)

See, now my plan is to purchase the DVD's. Then watch the episodes one day at a time. Hopefully this is what Jemmainternational will also do, thus drip feeding us the translations day by day as they do now. Sat1 will obviously release the rest of the episodes on DVD. Then we'll have a whole years worth of building up to epicness that is Jemma, all over again. Except this time we'll already know where to get together and chat about it. Yay. Or I could just return to my life..........

  • #21

    Kirsty (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 00:25)

@Kittykatcop- what a good plan. Think I will hold off watching my DVD and do your plan

@Ammy Ah, thank you for all your hard work :) Wonder why she doesn't wear it any more. They have been making her slightly less edgy. Did you notice she is wearing grey nail varnish now and not black like she used to? And the grey matched her top too!

  • #22

    amidola (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 00:28)

@kittykatcop: Lol, not to spoil your illusions, but we're not exactly drip feeding by intention;-) One ep a day is a good goal,no?And yes to the epic build up of a year!!! And life?Got a link?:-D

  • #23

    amidola (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 00:36)

Oh, by the way, is NO one going to comment on the fact, that Emma is getting up and rebuttoning her pants?
I think it's a sensible move not to loose too much clothing in potentially public spaces on soaps, but whowza that was explicit.

  • #24

    Ammy (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 01:09)

@Kirsty: You're welcome...It was research I was more than willing to do. LoL! Any other things you wanna know..let me know...I'll check it out.

@Ami: I admit that I had a little chuckle during "Emma putting her pants on" scene even though the scene itself was very sad. Just that awkward moment when the love of your life is in utter devestation and walking away and you get up to run after her only to have your pants undone and on the verge of falling to your ankles.

  • #25

    Randy (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 01:25)

Jenny's reactions to events usually end up hurting Emma. Although Jenny eventually apologizes for the hurt she causes, how much more can Emma take? Good thing this is fiction, because in real life this relationship probably wouldn't last.

    tamu13 (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 01:55)

I love jenny's hair around eps 190-200 (especially @ morning after their 'first') it's gorgeous!

  • #27

    tamu13 (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 02:14)

@randy.. agree w/ u.. why (big) troubles always come from jenny?
btw where's emma family? are they know about jemma? it should be a plot at second season.. unfortunately NOT *sigh

  • #28

    Randy (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 03:27)

@tamu13 Thanks for responding. Perhaps Jenny's reactions/decisions are because of unresolved issues from her troubled past. Jenny can confront other people (for example, Ronnie) but can't confront herself. But wonderful, loving Emma gets hurt every time. Even early in the relationship when Jenny was more caring toward Emma, she still managed to hurt her repeatedly. My heart aches for Emma.

  • #29

    Conchi (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 03:42)

Please, is there any psychologist in the forum? because I don't understand the behavior from Jenny, I don't recognize her! and we're supposed to believe that a girl who has just lost her parents can say "Well, what the heck, life goes..." I don't get it! :-(

  • #30

    Randy (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 04:07)

@Conchi I'm not a psychologist, but I think Jenny seems to be a person who suppresses her deeper emotions because letting them out would make her vulnerable, and she needs to feel confident and in control of situations. The one time she showed vulnerability and allowed herself to cry was when she was going through withdrawal from the drug Ronnie gave her, and she thought Emma would hate her.

  • #31

    Ammy (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 04:30)

@ Randy: You are exactly right....I know because I am the same way. Jenny is the rock and rocks don't cry. Or atleast that's how I explain myself to people. LoL!

  • #32

    Randy (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 04:45)

@Ammy I'm the same way too, hence my observation. We have to be strong for ourselves and everyone else. If we cry, we cry alone. Love "rocks don't cry."

  • #33

    KBee (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 04:55)

I'm no psychologist, but I can relate to Jenny. It's denial. Huge denial. It looks completely crazy, but it's a defense mechanism. Someone said it above: if she lets Emma in, Jenny has to let every thing in. By pushing Emma out and bad feelings out, she believes she can avoid grief.

  • #34

    KBee (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 04:59)

OK, guys, NO SPOILERS. But did anyone else think Jenny was hyped up? Ewe. That would be a really crazy turn to try to unravel in a week. SAT 1 - WE NEED ANOTHER SEASON! That. Is. All.

  • #35

    Randy (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 06:11)

@amidola, Emma buttoning her pants happened so quickly it's possible viewers missed it. Not only did it confirm they'd had sex, it was a realistic touch to the scene. I'm wondering if Emma helped Jenny get dressed, as she seemed ready to go outside half undressed. And who cleaned up the love nest? LOL.

  • #36

    Metric07 (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 06:27)

Now I know why I've avoided soap operas for long, my heart can't take this emotional rollercoaster! I can completely understand Jenny's reaction because it's exactly how I reacted when a close relative passed when I was younger. Yay for repressing emotions in a unhealthy way :p It will be interesting to see how they deal with this with so few episodes left.

  • #37

    San (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 06:37)

So sad. I had to focus on Lucy Scherer's legs just to keep myself together.

Man, you could tell Jenny was working very hard at holding it together. She almost lost it when Emma kissed her on the forehead. Also, when she told Bodo. That last look, oh my! She started walking faster before she lost control.

@Randy, @Ammy, and @KBee I agree. It's classic denial mixed with gotta-be-strong-and-not-show-any-vulnerability. Been there done that. Once you let it out, you don't know if you'll be able to stop. Ugh, I guess that's what we have to look forward to next week :(

@amidola Were those button fly jeans? What a way to make a difficult situation more difficult!

  • #38

    Kirsty (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 09:54)

@San agree with you on the legs thing! The two best moments in the episode were within about 10 seconds. THAT look at the end and then Jenny walking up the steps into the building. If only there was a screencap of that...

  • #39

    dropkick (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 11:25)

Ugh why does this have to end? There's no lesbian relationship even close to this on American TV. Those of you who don't understand Jenny's behavior, look up the Kübler-Ross model.

  • #40

    Andi (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 11:46)

She did rebutton her pants? Oh I didn't really notice because, you know... they were having sex, that's now a common thing to do, so It's nothing to get excited about, right? right...? Of course NOT!
I was blushing so hard just watching Emma rebutton her pants... I was like a 14-year-old: "hihi, she takes her pants on, hihi, they were having sex. *giggle* Yeah, they are seriously playing with my mental state...
But I hthink its okay till I dont behave like a 80-year-old man.

    Wired (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 14:13)

I just watched this episode last night. Poor Jenny! From one moment of happiness to this sadness! Thank goodness for Emma, though how Jenny can let her keep wearing her worried face I don't know!

I agree with everyone else above that Jenny is definitely surpressing her feelings which is a common thing to do. Especially in light of the situation. I've seen it before and while hard to understand for some people it is how other's cope. I love that I already feel like I know Emma will stick by Jenny and they'll make it through. That's good character development.

I can only imagine what a second season would have been like. It would have been amazing!

And the jeans buttoning? Swoon! I loved that part and agree it made it so much more real. Most soaps show the characters jumping up from bed fully clothed and ready to get to the next scene. This small detail makes is so much better!

Thanks for the screencaps too! They are excellent. Yay!

    aidan (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 15:00)

i know everyone is worry about jemma but i think ronnie did something to ben.

  • #46

    San (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 15:37)

@aidan Yeah, what did Ronnie do to Ben? He's a menace! But in no way does he deserve to go to jail. *eye roll*

  • #47

    Randy (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 15:39)

@dropkick, you're so right about Jenny going through the stages related to death: denial and isolation, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance. But how will all of these emotions fit into the remaining episodes? That's a lot to cover.

  • #48

    Clijsters3 (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 15:41)

Lucy Scherer's legs definately grabbed my attention at the beginning, which i feel quite bad about since it was a sad scene but i just couldn't help it!

Loved Jenny's and Emma's faces in the second sene so much emotion and sadness and the music in the background made it even more emotional.

Man I wish I had Lucy's hair she can do anything with it and look great.

Sorry @aidan but I skipped the Ronnie/Ben scenes so I don't know about that.

  • #49

    Randy (Donnerstag, 25 August 2011 16:36)

This has got to be the only TV show that makes visible bra straps part of the fashion statement.

  • #50

    Susan (Montag, 29 August 2011 17:47)

    @Randy:I totally agree with you.
Even early in the relationship when Jenny was more caring toward Emma, she still managed to hurt her repeatedly. My heart aches for Emma. I think the same too. Why every time Emma got to suffer when Jenny having troubles. It is because she just love Jenny too much but not fair to her .I wish Emma can put Jenny aside for some times, she needs to have her own life in stead of just affecting by Jenny's reactions. She has already try her best to help Jenny. I think that's enough for her to suffer, she needs to relax.
