Previously on Hand aufs Herz

Piet:Alexandra, Lara has been missing since yesterday.

Alexandra:What?

Piet:Yes, she just ran away. Miriam and I have been looking for her the whole time. We’ve also called the police already.

Alexandra:I didn’t know.

Bea:We’re going to get through this!

Miriam:We? But you’re going to go to Munich!

Bea:I‘m going to stay until we have found her.

Piet:During the training, has she maybe insinuated that she is unhappy or something of the sort?
Alexandra:Not that I know of, sorry.

Piet:Why did you lie to me? What did you do with my daughter?
Alexandra:Nothing! I won’t be spoken to like that!

Piet: (grabbing Alexandra by her collar) My daughter has disappeared because of you and if something happens to her, I’ll kill you!

Intro

[At Pestalozzi, volleyball field]

Bea and Miriam come running.

Miriam:Piet! No!

Bea:Let her go!

Miriam:Are you out of your mind?

Piet:It’s her fault that Lara ran away! She put her down in front of the entire team!

Miriam:Calm down!

Bea:Are you ok?

Alexandra:Leave me alone!

[At Pestalozzi, hall way]

Caro is dressed in a very revealing way.

Timo:It probably wouldn’t have been necessary to call the police. You can’t even imagine how often I wanted to run away when I was 16!

Sophie:Really? I wouldn’t have thought for you to have so much revolutionary spirit!

Timo:Well, there are quite some other wild stories.

Sophie:Well, tell me then.

Timo:All in good time.

Sophie:(to Hotte)Can I get to my locker?

Hotte watches Caro taking the stairs. Wearing some hot pants and a transparent shirt, she makes sure Hotte and Timo see her. (Katy Perry’s ‘Teenage Dream’ is playing)

Sophie:Hello??

Timo starts looking at Caro stupidly too.

Sophie:Say, are the two of you totally dumb now? (She turns around and spots Caro)I, er, forgot something. I’ll go get it.

Timo:Okay. Too bad. (to Hotte) Say, those pants are quite tight, aren’t they?

Hotte:What a woman!

[At Pestalozzi, school yard]

Miriam:What was that all about?? Are you crazy?

Piet:But she deserved it! If she hadn’t put Lara down like that none of this would have happened! I can’t believe that someone like that is allowed to teach!

Miriam:Yes, but you won’t help Lara by attacking Alexandra! You should be glad if she doesn’t report you!

Piet:I blew a fuse, that's all.. God, if something happens to Lara! I can’t take it anymore!

Miriam:I know. But we’re not thinking about this now! Lara’s fine and she will come back!

Piet:How do you know?

Miriam: I just know.

Piet:But we can’t sit tight and do nothing! We’ve to..we’ve to check the train station again! Or…flyers! I could also spread flyers!

Miriam:Piet, there’s no point in panicking now! We did everything we could. And Bea is going to take care of the flyers now. We should be home in case Lara comes home. Let’s go.

Piet: But you know, I can’t understand why she didn’t say anything. That Alexandra Lohmann put her down in front of the entire team! Why didn’t she talk to us?

Miriam: Maybe that’s the point. She didn’t run away because of Alexandra. She ran away because she had the feeling that she couldn’t talk to us.

[At Pestalozzi, restroom]

Caro is putting on some make-up when Sophie comes in.

Sophie:What’s the point of this?

Caro:What’s the point of what?

Sophie:What bullshit are you pulling here? Why are you walking around half naked in front of Hotte and Timo and act like a femme fatale?

Caro:Ts, well you shouldn’t care when Hotte’s eyes pop out of his head.

Sophie:But I do care when it’s Timo's!

Caro:Hey. Timo has changed. Trust him! I’ve already told you that it’s old stories.

Sophie:Which old stories are you talking about?

Caro:Well, well if you really want to know.. When the two of you got together the first time around, Timo couldn’t always control himself.

Sophie:Which means…?

Caro:At first I thought I was imagining things but…those constant coincidental touches and compliments. And when he eventually tried to kiss me then…that was quite obvious.

Sophie:I don’t believe you.

Caro:That’s why I wasn’t going to tell you. But it’s probably better that you don’t believe it.

Sophie:Why?

Caro:Because this old story shouldn’t be in your way. It’s over now. I mean, I just ran past you and Timo and he couldn’t take his eyes off<of you, right?

Sophie:Right! (She isn’t really convinced and starts doubting though.)

Caro:See! Then everything’s fine.

[At Pestalozzi, teachers’ lounfe]

Alexandra is lying on a couch feeling sick.

Ms Jäger: Are you sure that you don’t want to go to the doctor's- just in case? Dizziness isn’t something to be trifled with.

Alexandra:No, no. I don’t want to make a big deal out of it unnecessarily. That’s not my nature.

Ms Jäger: Not your nature…I understand.

Götting:Ms Jäger, don’t you think your plants could use some water again?

MsJäger:Tss. (She leaves pouting.)

Götting:(to Alexandra)But we should still call the police. It’s a clear case of assault!

Alexandra:No. I just want to forget about it.

Götting: Are you worrying about it? It’s totally absurd to think that you have something to do with this! This Lara Vogel must be really mentally unstable if she runs away just because you gave her a ticking-off. I mean, in that case I already should have thrown myself in front of a train.(*Le sigh*..you almost will..)

Alexandra: Of course I don’t have anything to do with Lara Vogel’s disappearance! No normal girl would run away because of this! She was probably just fed up with her parents! Well, it’s understandable.

Mrs Krawcyk: Ms Lohmann?

Alexandra:I’m sorry but I would really like to have my peace now after this unpleasant incident! Is it important?

Mrs Krawcyk: Yes, it is. I would like to ask you to write a report about the incident between you and Lara Vogel after the Volleyball match as soon as possible. If Lara really ran away because of that we’ll have to go into this matter.

Alexandra:I don’t know what those two matters have to do with one another. But alright. I’ll write the report.

Mrs Krawcyk: We’ve got to pursue every clue.

Götting:I think Ms Lohmann understood.

(Mrs Krawcyk leaves the room)

Götting:Gosh, such a pushy woman!

[At Pestalozzi, lounge]

Timo is sitting on the couch playing a game on his phone when Sophie shows up.

Sophie:Hi!

Timo:(focused on the game) Hm.

Sophie:Hi! That's it?

Timo:Ah dammit, I lost again!

Sophie:I'm coming up to you and all you're doing is play with your stupid mobile phone!

Timo:(sighs) Sorry! This game is really addictive.

Sophie:That exciting?

Timo:Well, not as exciting as you are, of course!

Sophie:Well, what is more exciting than me?

Timo:Hmmmmm. Let me think…Nothing of course!

Sophie:Hm what about Caro?

Timo:Why do you ask that?

Sophie:Well, you can’t say that you don’t like her.

Timo:No way! Much too arrogant!

Sophie:And if all of a sudden she were being nice?

Timo:No! I can’t even imagine that!

Sophie:Well, I'm just talking about her looks.

Timo:Yes, ok, Caro looks nice, but she's totally not my type.

Sophie:Nice, yeah?

Timo:But not my type!

Sophie:But you wouldn’t push her out of your bed.

Timo:What's going on with you?

Sophie:Why?
Timo:Well, you're asking weird questions about strange women. There's gotta be something off.

Sophie:No! Everything’s fine. I was just curious.

Timo:About what I think about Caro? But you know my opinion about her! This woman is simply arrogant, shallow and scheming. I’m not interested in her at all, ok?

Sophie:Yes, ok!

Timo:Have you read too many magazines again? Was there some weird thing in my horoscope?

Sophie:No. Everything’s fine.

Timo:Well, in that case, we can talk about interesting stuff now.

Sophie:Yes, ok.

Timo:Would you like to have a coffee? I’ll get you one and then we’ll talk about what we'll do tonight, ok?

(Sophie still seems bothered by what Caro said earlier./Idiot..listening to the queen of lies, whose very own pawn she was earlier..))

[At Pestalozzi, hallway]

Bea tries to work the copying machine, but it doesn’t work.

Bea:Dammit!

(Ben comes up to her)

Ben:Hey. I thought you were in Munich already.

Bea:I still have things to copy. (Copy Shop, anyone?)

Ben:Why didn’t you ? I thought you left already! (Because I unceremoniously dumped you,remember?)

Bea:Ben, I really don’t have the time for that now. I need to copy these leaflets because of Lara.

Ben:I've heard. She still hasn’t shown up?

Bea:She hasn’t called. This damn machine!

Ben:Let me try. It’s probably just a paper jam or something like that. (He removes a sheet of paper) Now it’s ready to go.

Bea:Thanks!

(They both reach for the “start” button and touch each other but Bea draws her hand back quickly.)

Ben:And who is going to spread them now?

Bea:Me.

Ben:On your own? I’m going to help you.

Bea:You don’t have to.

Ben:I know.

[At the Vogels’]

Piet and Miriam are waiting impatiently for Lara to come home when Piet tries to get closer to Miriam.

Miriam:(Getting up from the couch) Sorry, I just can’t do it. Sitting tight and doing nothing.

Piet:Me neither.

(Miriam tries to distract herself by doing the household)

Piet:I’ll go to the garage, ok?

Miriam:Ok.

(Being alone now, both start crying about their daughter and how things went with them.)

[At Pestalozzi, Auditorium]

Sophie enters the Auditorium.

Luzi:Oh it’s you. It’s just quarter to…

Sophie:I just wanted to be here early for once. (When the student bests the master..)

Luzi:Great! Then you can start with stapling these sheets.. Timo actually wanted to do it but it seems he has forgotten about it once again.

Sophie:Is he always unreliable like that?

Luzi:Well, he can be quite a mess.

Sophie:Is he also that chaotic in relationships?

Luzi:Well, you should know better about that than I do.

Sophie:Has he ever mentioned that he might be interested in other girls here at school?

Luzi:No, why should he?

(Ah, the seed of doubt..)

[At Pestalozzi, school yard]

Caro pretends to have hurt her ankle so that Timo helps her.

Caro:Ah shit! Ahh gosh, it hurts so much! Dammit! Come on, help me please!

Timo:Are you ok?

Caro:I twisted my ankle. I think I can’t walk anymore. Ouch!

(Timo helps her into the building)

Timo:Is it ok like that?

Caro:Maybe a little more down. That way you will have a better grip.

(She leads his hand to her ass./Caro, wrong scene, wrong setting..)

[At Pestalozzi, Auditorium]

Sophie:Has he mentioned Caro?

Luzi:Huh?

Sophie:Well, that he thinks she looks good or attractive or nice.

Luzi:Uh, what’s the point of this interrogation? If you don’t trust him then don’t be with him, ok? He’s a great guy. And the one not appreciating this, really doesn’t deserve him.

Sophie:Ok. You’re right. Change of subject. Now, show me which songs you’ve chosen.

Luzi:Much better! Maybe there are some you like.

[At Pestalozzi hallway]

Timo:Shouldn’t I call the ambulance?

Caro:Ouch…ah nonsense! Just bring me to the ladies’ restroom. I can cool the ankle there. Then it won’t be as bad. Ah, ouch. This way.

Timo:Why?

Caro:It’s faster.

Timo:Nonsense!

Caro:Ah, dammit. Come on let’s go!

[In the streets]

Ben and Bea are handing out leaflets and asking people if they’ve seen Lara.

Bea:…about 1,70m tall.(The one and only tall player in the Shortest.Volleyballteam.Ever.)

Ben:Excuse me.

Bea:Excuse me.

Bea:She’s about 1,65m, has blue eyes and long blond hair.

Ben:…long blond hair, slim…you saw her?

.

Ben:Hey! So?

Bea:Nothing.

Ben:You’ve got to eat something. You are going to faint otherwise!

Bea:Shall we take a break?

Ben:Let’s rather keep going. I think it’s better when everybody gets a handout before going home.

Bea:Thank you.

Ben:Eat something first! I’ll keep going by myself in the meantime. See you later.

(A selfless act by Ben? Is there fairy dust in the paper?)

[At Pestalozzi, Auditorium]

Luzi and Sophie sing Rihanna’s “A Million Miles Away” together. Caro and Timo are passing the Auditorium by outside.

Caro:And thank you for everything.

Timo:Yes, you’re welcome.

Luzi sees Timo with Caro and is confused but keeps singing.

Caro:But I mean, that’s…

Timo:Yes, now come on. You will manage the last steps!

Luzi:Uhm, wait a second. (She goes outside the Auditorium and looks around.)

Sophie:Is everything alright?

Luzi:Sorry, I somehow just had a hallucination….Uh, let’s just do it again. It was quite good but we can do better.

Sophie:Sure. I’m just wondering what Timo is doing.

Luzi:Uhm, yes. I’m starting to wonder about this, too…Alright, let’s do it again.

[At Pestalozzi, Götting’s office]

Götting:You’re going to write a short report about when you saw her the last time and that’s it. Nobody will read it anyway. You know this place.

Alexandra:The fact that Krawczyk, of all people, is using me as a warning is stretching it too far! I have nothing to do with Lara Vogel’s disappearance! Absolutely nothing! Got it?

Götting:Hey. Nobody said that. Come on, the kids always come back anyway as soon as they run out of money.

Alexandra:Not always.

/* Flashback*/

Bea:Nobody can be blamed for Franziska’s disappearance!

Alexandra:You killed her, you damn murderer!

/* End Flashback*/

Götting:Is everything ok?

Alexandra:Yes, of course!

[At Pestalozzi, restroom]

Caro:I’ll text my mom to come pick me up.

(In fact she writes a message to Sophie saying:

Come to the ladies’ restroom quickly! Timo is trying it again.”)

Timo:I have to leave now!

Caro:Please wait until she arrives at least.

Timo:Until your mom is here? But you’ve just sent her a message! You’re going to manage without me for sure.

Caro:And what if I suddenly faint and twist my ankle again? Or…

Timo:Then you’re going to die painfully in the restroom of the school. Caro! Should I let the office know?

Caro:Then everybody will know that I stumbled. Please Timo, just for a little while!

Timo:No! I’m really late! And your mother will surely be here soon to comfort you.

(Timo is about to leave.)

Caro:Hey!

(She grabs Timo’s shirt and tears it)

Timo:Gosh, watch it!

Caro:Please, take me to the corridor at least.

Timo:Yes, ok.

[In the streets]

Ben:Alright, this is the last one.

Bea:Nobody saw her.

Ben:But maybe someone will call soon.

Bea:You’re right. We should always stay optimistic.

Ben:Lara will show up again…for sure. I’ll take you home, ok?

A young girl, the viewer can only see from behind, shows up and sees the flyer.

[At Pestalozzi, hallway]

Caro:Timo, wait. I think I can walk again.

Timo:Well then try.

Caro:It’s not completely possible yet. But I want to thank you again.

(She sees Sophie approaching.)

Timo:But you already did.

Caro:But not fully yet.

(Caro kisses Timo knowing that Sophie is watching them.)

(What a bitch! Caro, you amaze me.Not many people have managed that.)
